Priorities

- Improve streets and sidewalks
- Upgrade Kirkwood's aging water system
- Preserve the character of our community while accommodating growth to increase affordable housing
- Provide transparency and opportunities for citizen engagement by live-streaming council work sessions and sending regular updates
- Grow the appeal and quality of life in our community with more pocket gardens and trees
Accomplishments

- Secured $2.5 million from the State to renovate the Kirkwood Train Station.
- Successfully lobbied for the return of a second Amtrak train after rail service was reduced.
- Initiated a demonstration project to evaluate changes to Kirkwood Road. Following the study, the original plan was scrapped for a more efficient configuration.
- Stopped excessive spending when a $50,000 mural was proposed on the street near the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center. The mural had a projected lifespan of three years. Liz objected and the project was dropped.
- Created a regular council update email for residents who requested to be on the mailing list.
- Spearheading Grant’s Trail extension into downtown Kirkwood which will benefit our business district.
All About Liz

Liz Gibbons has called Kirkwood home for over 60 years.
Liz grew up in Kirkwood and attended Kirkwood schools — Robinson, Nipher and Kirkwood High School. She married Mike Gibbons and started her family in the community she is proud to call home.
Together she and Mike have two children, Danny and Meredith. Danny and Meredith also reside in Kirkwood with their families.
Currently serving as a member of the Kirkwood City Council, Liz brings with her the experience, and drive to make things happen and to continue to grow our wonderful community for all of our amazing residents.
Liz worked extensively in both the public and private sectors:
- Travel professional for Maritz and Gwin’s Travel
- Chief legislative aide to Senator Kit Bond
- Executive director of CharacterPlus
Liz is an active member of our community.
